Sacred Reflection
When the Fire Burns All But Soul
I walked through the fire
with nothing in my hands
but a prayer
and a memory of stars.
Everything false curled into smoke—
dreams not meant for me,
roles that chafed,
names I no longer answered to.
I stood barefoot in the ruins,
a temple rising in my chest,
built not from what I kept,
but from what I let burn.
So many cannot see me now—
not because I’ve disappeared,
but because I’ve become
a quiet flame
they don’t yet know how to hold.

Reflections
What has burned away from your life in the past few years? What has that fire taught you?
Are there areas where you still feel tempted to perform spirituality rather than simply be?
How do you know when you are living from soul presence vs. ego identity?
Who (or what) truly sees you now? Who are you when no one is watching?
Journaling
Create a simple altar of ash and flame. Light a candle. Place something you’ve released (a name, an identity, a role) on the altar — written on paper, or symbolized by a stone, leaf, or item.
Play music that reminds you of your strength, or sit in silence.
Then write:
What has been purified?
What remains that is indestructible?
What new truth is rising from the ruins?
When you’re ready, thank the fire. Close your ritual with the words:
“I am not what I’ve lost. I am what remains.”
