Awakening Consciousness

The Universal Journey of Consciousness

Awakening Consciousness
One Truth, Many Tongues.

There is a golden thread that runs through every sacred tradition, mystery school, psychological model, and mystical path. It is the journey of consciousness — from the slumber of separation, through the fire of awakening, into the holy remembrance of Oneness.

Though the languages differ —
Some speak of chakras, others of frequency,
Some of soul evolution, others of psycho-spiritual stages
They all echo the same divine story:

Many Traditions, One Story

The human being is evolving, returning, remembering.  There are traditions that go back thousands of years that articulate the same Truth: that we are evolving out consciousness both as individuals and as a species.  Here are a few examples of these different articulations of Conscioiusness.

  • The Yogic Path speaks of energy rising through the chakras, from survival to divine union.

  • David Hawkins maps consciousness through frequencies, ascending from shame to enlightenment.

  • Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory shows the self expanding from ego to kosmic consciousness.

  • The Tree of Life in Kabbalah charts the soul’s ascent from earth to crown — from embodiment to union.

  • Alchemy reveals the soul’s transformation through blackening, whitening, and reddening — a sacred fire of becoming.

  • Evolutionary Astrology names these phases as Consensus, Individuated, and Spiritual — the soul’s spiral homeward.

Each tradition offers a map. But the destination is the same.

Truth is truth — wherever it appears, it rings like a bell in the heart.

So we do not need to choose one tradition and discard the others. Instead, we can sit in the center of the spiral — and look out with reverence at the many sacred mirrors.

Three States of Consciousness

To support the seeker, I offer a simple, elegant way of understanding this sacred journey — one that can serve as a foundation for deeper exploration across traditions.

These are the Three States of Consciousness, as described in Evolutionary Astrology and echoed by many spiritual paths:

CONSENSUS STATE.

“I am who they say I am.”

The Sleep of the Soul · Belonging to the Tribe

In this state, identity is shaped by outer forces — family, religion, nation, social class. The soul is asleep to its sovereignty, but this sleep is sacred. It builds the foundation from which the soul will one day awaken.

Stage One: Blind Acceptance
  • -The individual follows rules without question.

  • Identity is enmeshed in cultural, religious, or familial expectations.

  • Security is found in obedience and sameness.

🕯"I am who they say I am."

Stage Two: Attachment to Structure
  • Pride develops in upholding the system.

  • The person may take leadership roles in maintaining societal norms.

  • There may be judgment toward those who think differently.

🕯 "This is the right way. I protect the way."

Stage Three: Cracks in the Surface
  • Suffering begins. The structure no longer fits.

  • Restlessness arises. A spiritual hunger is born, often misunderstood.

  • The soul is still deeply loyal to the tribe, but something stirs within.

🕯 "Why does this not feel like truth anymore?"

INDIVIDUATED STATE

The Awakening Soul · Becoming the Truth-Seeker

Here, the soul breaks from the collective mold and begins to forge its own path. This is the domain of rebellion, revolution, and revelation.

Stage One: Rebellion & Identity Crisis
  • The soul rejects societal norms.

  • The person may swing between extremes, seeking identity in contrast.

  • Disillusionment and alienation are common.

🕯"I am not who you told me to be. But who am I?"

Stage Two: Soul Retrieval & Truth Seeking
  • Deep inner work begins: therapy, healing, plant medicine, spiritual study.

  • The soul excavates what was lost under layers of programming.

  • Authenticity becomes the compass.

🕯"I will not live a lie. My soul knows the way."

Stage Three: Creative Expression of Self
  • The individual begins to live out their soul essence in the world.

  • There is a longing to serve, to contribute something original and meaningful.

  • Still separate from the whole, but no longer in opposition.

🕯"I walk the path of my becoming, even if I walk alone."

SPIRITUAL STATE

The Devotional Soul · Returning to the Whole

The spiritual state arises when the soul recognizes itself in all things. No longer seeking to stand apart, it longs to weave its truth into the fabric of life.

Stage One: Surrender to Something Greater
  • The soul yields to the Mystery.

  • There may be a dark night of the soul, ego death, or collapse of control.

  • Life becomes a spiritual practice, not a personal project.

🕯"I lay myself down at the altar of what is real."

Stage Two: Embodied Devotion
  • The person becomes a vessel for healing, wisdom, or compassion.

  • Integrity deepens. The inner and outer life harmonize.

  • There is no need to convince — only to live truthfully.

🕯 "Let my life be a prayer."

Stage Three: Living in Sacred Service
  • The soul merges with its purpose.

  • Identity dissolves into offering.

  • This is the mystic, the medicine woman, the elder — the one who has returned to the tribe with soul intact.

🕯 "I am the breath of the Divine, walking in form."

THE SPIRIAL CONTINUES

These nine stages — Three within Three — are not rigid. You may find yourself in the second stage of Individuated Consciousness while holding remnants of Consensus in your relationships, or tasting the third stage of Spiritual in your rituals while still navigating the second stage of Individuation in your business.

This is the sacred spiral.
This is Her Sacred Journey.
And it is unfolding perfectly

YOU ARE ALREADY ON THE PATH.

No matter where you are in your journey —
Whether questioning old beliefs, reclaiming your truth, or quietly holding space for others —
You are walking the same sacred path that mystics, seekers, and sages have walked for thousands of years.

You are not lost.
You are unfolding.
You are remembering.

The human being is evolving, returning and remembering.
