The Horizon Within

Sagittarius New Moon

“The Horizon Within”

This is the New Moon of expansion, truth-seeking, and visionary fire. A time to name the quest your soul is on, and to trust that even the unseen road is sacred if it’s led by your inner compass.

Sun and Moon in Sagittarius
Axis of Belief and Experience | Mutable Fire–Air Polarity
Ruled by Jupiter

Astrological Overview

The Sagittarius New Moon arrives like a flaming arrow through fog — bold, clarifying, and infused with the spirit of quest. Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, is the seeker, the pilgrim, the philosopher, the truth-teller.

This is a lunation of belief, freedom, and spiritual exploration. With the Sun and Moon united in this fire sign, we are invited to align our lives with our deepest convictions — and to walk our talk with courage.

This moon also brings themes of travel (inner or outer), education, teaching, publishing, and spiritual initiation. It asks: What do I believe now? And how does my life reflect that belief?

The shadow of Sagittarius can be dogma, spiritual bypassing, or chasing novelty without integration. This

New Moon reminds us: true wisdom is lived, not just learned. True expansion includes discernment.

Reflection Questions

  • What does freedom mean to me now — and what is its cost?

  • What belief or worldview am I outgrowing?

  • What sacred quest is calling me at this stage of life?

  • Where am I ready to stop wandering and start walking with purpose?

  • If I could whisper a new belief into my future self, what would it be?

Ritual: “Arrow of Intention”

A Ceremony of Vision, Truth, and Soul Direction

You Will Need:

  • A purple, orange, or white candle

  • A journal or sheet of paper

  • A natural stick or twig (or a symbolic “arrow”)

  • String or ribbon

  • Optional: a feather, map, or compass

The Ceremony

1. Cast the Circle

Light your candle. Sit facing a window or open space. Close your eyes and say aloud:

“I open to the wisdom within and the road ahead. May truth be my compass. May vision be my light.”

2. Write the Quest

In your journal, answer the prompt: “The quest I now claim is…” Let it pour out — whether poetic or practical.

3. Create the Arrow

Wrap the ribbon around the stick or arrow as you name aloud the intention you are anchoring into the coming cycle. You may tie on a feather or word, if desired.

4. Claim It

Hold the arrow over your heart. Say:

“This is my truth. This is my path. I walk with purpose and trust.”

5. Place the Arrow on Your Altar

Let it be a symbol of your North Star. Revisit it when you feel lost. Let it remind you: the path is within you.
